Do I need a credit card for the trial?
No credit card is required for your Alchemy trial, and it does not automatically become a paid subscription. Live AI activities use your Google AI key, so you need active Google billing. Google may require its own payment method.
When do my seven days start?
When signup creates your teacher workspace. Your seven days include setup, building activities, and learner practice. The standard trial includes 50 learner activity starts and 50 teacher AI requests across your workspace.
What counts toward the trial limits?
A learner start is an admitted activity attempt, so a repeat uses another start. The allowance is 50 starts, not 50 unique learners. The 50 teacher AI requests cover provider requests such as preparing or regenerating a native example; one teacher action can use more than one request. Failed starts before a launch is issued do not use a start. Teacher requests stopped before dispatch are released; requests already sent to Google count. An admitted learner can finish within the activity's session limits even if the trial allowance runs out.
How long can I replay student recordings?
In a new standard trial, immediate-feedback raw recordings are processed without being saved by Alchemy. Recordings awaiting teacher review are available until feedback is released or for 48 hours after submission, whichever comes first. Feedback and results remain available. Paid membership adds an optional 14-day recording playback setting for activity attempts started after upgrading. An upgrade does not extend an earlier recording. Existing trials and pilots keep their original recording policies.
What does the Teacher plan include?
One teacher workspace with every teacher feature, 3,000 learner activity starts and 20,000 learner conversation messages per monthly billing period. The allowances are shared across all your activities, including guest links and website embeds. Google AI usage is billed separately; platform safeguards still apply.
What counts toward the Teacher allowances?
A start is an admitted activity attempt; a repeat attempt uses another start. Opening a preview, reopening an admitted attempt, or viewing saved feedback does not use another start. Role-play and feedback-discussion learner messages and coaching requests count toward the message allowance; the AI reply is included. Messages stopped before a request is sent to Google are released. Sent or uncertain requests count, and deleting saved content does not restore an allowance.
When do Teacher allowances reset?
With each confirmed paid monthly renewal, on your billing-period date, rather than the first day of the calendar month. Unused allowances do not roll over. A failed renewal can have a three-day grace period using only the previous paid period’s remaining balance; it does not create a new allowance.
What happens if I reach an allowance?
New activity starts or conversation messages pause until the next paid allowance is available or a different arrangement is agreed. Learners already admitted can finish within session limits. Alchemy does not charge automatic overages. Google AI costs are separate, so continue monitoring Google billing. Daily, conversation-length, and abuse-prevention safeguards also apply.
How are Google AI costs paid?
You connect an API key from your own Google AI account with paid billing enabled. Google charges that account for AI use during the trial and membership. Alchemy's $19 monthly membership covers the platform, not those Google charges. Set spending controls in Google AI Studio.
Do learners need their own subscription?
No. You share your activity by link or website embed. Learners use that access, and their AI requests use your connected Google AI account. The platform is for adults age 18 and older.
Can I cancel the Teacher plan?
The membership renews monthly until you cancel in Manage membership. Access continues through the paid period. There is no prorated refund for unused time unless required by law. Applicable taxes and the final total are shown before payment.
Do you offer school access?
Yes, schools and teams can talk to us about their needs. Their arrangements are separate from the individual Teacher plan.
